GardeFeu / Fire Practice / Parc Léon-Provancher / Montréal / 29 July 2022

How’s this for a first blog post on this site? I showed up at the GardeFeu practice at Parc Léon-Provancher on Friday to take some shots, and this is what I got.

Fortunately, I knew at least one person there, and was able to get my flash into the enclosure they were using for their safety purposes. Part of the thrill of this set is I didn’t know what to expect, or how each long exposure would come out.

This was a lot of experimenting for this shoot, and I think there’s definitely some stuff to improve. It has definitely given me some ideas for some other shoots in the future. Next step? Fire safety course. Why? Because like Robert Capa said: “If your pictures aren't good enough, you aren't close enough.”
